Giving Opportunities and Financial Relief/Assistance
In response to requests from numerous alumni, parents, and friends who wish to help the college community, The Citadel Foundation has established a new gift fund that will provide the college with the resources and flexibility it needs to respond to the health crisis as it impacts The Citadel.
The COVID-19 Relief Fund is designed specifically to provide assistance to employees and students as needs arise. Funds will be allocated at the college's discretion as requests for assistance are made.

Guidance On Taking Leave
As of January 1, 2021, EFMLA and EPSL are no longer available to employees. The federal leave provisions related to the FFCRA expired on Dec. 31, 2020. FTE employees whose positions are not eligible for telework are still able to submit personal sick leave to cover absences, including those related to contracting COVID-19 or being quarantined as a result of potential COVID-19 exposure. The State of South Carolina also permits advanced sick leave in extenuating circumstances.
Additionally, employees have the option of using annual leave or compensatory time in situations in which one is not able to report to work or telework because their child’s school or place of care is closed.
If the employee does not have available leave or is in a temporary status, the employee may take leave without pay.
To view leave balances, please click the “Leave Details” link on the Lesesne Gateway.
For additional information, please refer to the Citadel HR FAQs.
Working Remotely
Citadel HR and ITS have collaborated to provide a website with information for employees while they telework.
